      932.  HANSGIRG, F.    Furnace Gases Low in Nitrogen and Suitable for Synthetic Purposes.  United States Patent 2,337,551, Dec. 28, 1943  Chem. Abs., vol. 38, 1944, p. 3458.

Describes apparatus, and a process is employed for producing gases consisting largely of H2 and CO, which involves employing substantially N2-free O2 together with inflammable hydrocarbon gases low in N2 as a blast gas in metallurgical reduction processes carried out in furnaces requiring the use of a blast, as in the reduction of iron ore.  CH4-rich waste gases from oil-synthesis and coal-hydrogenation processes, coke-oven gas, or natural gas may be used.
