      986.  ------.  [HEMMINGER, C. E.]  (Standard Oil Development Co.).  [Synthetic Hydrocarbons.]  French Patent 953,152, Dec. 1, 1949; appl. filed Sept. 15, 1947, in United States Sept. 28, 1946.  Chem. Zentralb., 1950, II, p. 366.

Synthetic hydrocarbons are made from CO and H2 in presence of a powdered Fe catalyst containing 1.2-1.7% of K.  The operation is fluidized.  The advantage lies in a strongly reduced coke formation during the synthesis and in a longer activity of the catalyst.
