            In reactions using H2 at a high temperature, particularly in the hydrogenation of coal, tars, oils, the reaction vessels are protected against the destructive action of the H2 by covering their surfaces with an alloy of Cu and Zn.  Other metals such as Mn, Ni, Fe, Co, Al, or Ag may be incorporated to increase the mechanical resistance.
