2946.----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A. G.]  [Iron Catalyst] German Patent Appl. --, no date.  FIAT Reel K-20, frames 232-240, Dec. 8, 1939; PB 70,211.

Highly active Fe catalysts are obtained from a mixture of Fe salt solution and a solution of a Ca or Mn salt by precipitation with alkali hydroxide, the content of Ca or Mn being >  5%.  Precipitation takes place on fine-grain kieselguhr, CaO, MgO, or diatomite.  The precipitate is then impregnated with alkali hydroxide solutions while still moist.  For reducing the induction time, 2-5% Ni, Co, or Cu are added.
