3139.----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A. G.]  [Process for Sulfonation of the Olefinic Products of Carbon Monoxide Hydrogenation.]  German Patent Appl. R 108,369, R 538, filed Mar. 16, 1943 (Cl. 12 o-23.01).  FIAT Reel B-196, frames 267-269; TOM Reel 39, bag 3,453, item 1.

Raw materials for the sulfonation are those hydrogenation products that were obtained by the simultaneous addition of gases, which did not take part in the hydrogenating reaction or gases that were still rich in CO owing to very brief contact with the catalyst.  Products produced from synthesis gases having very nearly equal parts by volume of H2 and CO, or from the recycled gases that contained about 2.5-4.0 parts of recycle gas to 1 part of fresh gas also may be used.
