8. Conclusion.

The synol process may be considered the most important development in the field of CO-H2 synthesis carried out in Germany during the war. it is a means to synthesize in one operation a valuable chemical, such as high boiling alcohols.

The process appears to be entirely practical and requires no extreme operating conditions or expensive catalysts. It is the first achievement fuels and hydrocarbons and towards especially defined compounds. It seems likely that the synol process, with certain variations could be changed to produce oxygenated compounds, such as esters and acids.
