Abstract

PURPOSE: To omit a CO shifting step and enable consumption of all the CO in a raw material gas for production of hydrocarbons, by feeding the raw material gas together with a by-product gas containing H2 and CO at a specific ratio to a hydrocarbon synthesis step.

CONSTITUTION: A raw material gas 1, such as coke oven gas containing CO, H2, etc., is passed through a CO2 removing step 2 and fed to a hydrocarbon synthesis step 3, where the raw material gas, together with an auxiliary raw material gas 4, is fed at >1 molar ratio of H2/CO to regulate the gas composition so as to provide about 1 molar ratio of H2/CO. Hydrogen synthesis reaction is carried out under reaction condition of 10 kg/cm2 pressure and 450oC temperature using iron-titanium-vanadium based catalyst as a catalyst.
