Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce CO consumption in a CO shifting step and increase the amount of formed hydrocarbons, by separating H2 in a product gas after hydrocarbon synthetic reaction and circulating the above-mentioned H2 to a synthesis step.

CONSTITUTION: A raw material gas 1 containing CO and H2 is reacted with steam in a CO shifting step 2 to produce H2. The gas after the reaction is cooled in a CO2 removing step 3. The excess steam is removed and CO2 is simultaneously adsorbed and removed. The resultant gas is then fed to a hydrocarbon synthesis step 4, where H2 5 separated from a product gas is circulated and fed to provide about 1 ratio of H2/CO. Hydrogen synthesis reaction is carried out under reaction condition of 10 kg/cm2 pressure and 450oC temperature using iron-titanium-vanadium based catalyst as a catalyst.
