Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst suitable for the synthesis of hydrocarbon oil corresponding to a petroleum intermediate fraction from carbon monoxide and hydrogen with high yield, by using a material prepared from an alfol alumina gel as a carrier.

CONSTITUTION: In a metal supported catalyst used in reaction for the synthesis of hydrocarbon consisting of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, as the metal supported catalyst, a ruthenium supported catalyst is used and a carrier is prepared by a method wherein the alfol alumina gel obtained from Al-alkoxide is kneaded with an aqueous acid solution containing no sulfur and the kneaded mixture is dried before baked at 350-800oC. In synthesizing hydrocarbon from a gaseous mixture consisting of CO and H by using this catalyst, the catalyst is dispersed in a solvent and used in a suspension bed system. By this method, hydrocarbon oil corresponding to a petroleum intermediate fraction can be synthesized in high yield.
