Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the local elevation in temperature of a catalytic layer and to reduce stably it by using the following oil as an inert liquid in a period for reducing the catalyst wherein the hydrogenolysis is not caused in a low-pressure period and the hydrogenolysis is caused in a period of a high-pressure catalytic conversion reaction to gasify the oil.

CONSTITUTION: In case of reducing a catalyst in an inert liquid by using a gaseous mixture containing H2 and CO, the following oil such as pentaphenylether having an ester series or ether series benzene ring is used as an inert liquid wherein the hydrogenolysis is not caused in a period for reducing the catalyst in at 150-350oC in <= 5 atm pressure and on the other hand the hydrogenolysis is caused in a period for a catalytic conversion reaction at 200-300oC in 50-150 atm pressure to gasify the oil. Thereby the catalyst is brought into contact with the reducing gas in the liquid and the heat of reaction accompanied with the reduction is dispersed and the temp. of the catalytic layer is made uniform and the catalyst can be reduced in a stable state without local elevation in temp.
